The air's so thin I can hardly breathe...

What do the following books have in common?

Rachael Maddow's DRIFT
Abraham Verghese's CUTTING FOR STONE
Tyler Florence's TYLER MAKES PANCAKES
Suzanne Collins' THE HUNGER GAMES
John Schwartz's IN THE SHADOW OF BABYLON

They were the five most viewed books on the KIRKUS Reviews website last week! Ahhhh life in the rarified atmosphere of popular books ... makes me dizzy simply to be associated with an author like Verghese!!!! If you haven't read CUTTING FOR STONE I encourage you to do so ... it is a wonderful book.

I continue to look for an agent or publisher. It is a tough business. Self publishing makes the long and arduous search less painful because one is attracting readers while searching for a publishing partner. I love the thought of people I don't know, and will probably never meet, reading my book. There is an almost spiritual connection between an author putting words on paper and the reader capturing them with their eyes. It's the feeling I tried to convey in the poem in the The Song of Ayuba which is the philosophical core of Babylon:

When I wrote these lines
I dreamed of you
When your eyes traced these lines
Did you not dream of me?

If you have read Babylon I encourage you to place a comment on the Amazon Web page. Nothing helps more to increase readership than the opinions of those who have read the book. It doesn't need to be fancy or long ... just a line or two expressing your feelings about the book. Thanks.
